Really beautiful and minimal UI in each of these “Games for Creatives” proves once again that the UI need not call attention to itself. Available for the iPhone, games such as EYE vs. EYE and KERN challenge creative gamers—and by creative I mean specifically those in the field of visual communications—to match chromatic values or propery kern letters in a Tetris-like fashion.
I like this quote from the designer’s short essay on his approach to designing user interfaces:
“… [the] interface
succeeds through its pure honesty and unadorned nature. It is an interface that pretends to be nothing other than itself and offers an unencumbered connection between the user and the device or application.”
